Washington, DC. Officials are not using words like emergency, but after Anonymous released a video saying yesterday that mankind is on the verge of WWIII and given the Russian Foreign Minister is meeting overnight with the American President, one can only expect very serious issues are being discussed today.
President Donald Trump will meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the White House on Wednesday to discuss Syria and a wide range of international issues including the Donbass crisis in Ukraine a senior US official said.
It is the highest level contact between Trump and the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin since Trump took office on Jan. 20. The fact that it has not been previously announced underscores the seriousness of the visit and issues up for review.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on the agenda would be Syria as well as the fighting in eastern Ukraine, US-Russian relations and other global issues including the Korean crisis.
Relations deteriorated between the United States and Russia after US air strikes against a Syrian airfield in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack that Washington blamed on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a Russian ally.
