German delegation in Crimea: If Ukraine would enrol us on the sanctions list, we can endure that

Politicians and businessmen from Germany dismiss Kiev’s threat to impose sanctions for a visit to the Russian peninsula.

A delegation of ten people arrived in the Crimea on March 26 with a one-week visit. During the trip, foreign guests will visit the sights of the peninsula and hold a meeting with regional authorities.

“If Ukraine will enrol us on the sanctions lists, we can live with it,” said businessman Andreas Maurer.

Members of the German delegation said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine can impose sanctions against them for visiting the Crimea, as it was with other Western politicians. In particular, in September last year the prosecutor’s office of the “Autonomous Republic of Crimea”, established by Kiev after the region’s reunification with Russia, opened a criminal proceeding under the article “Violation of the order of entry to the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea”, regarding members of the French delegation who were on visit In the Crimea from 29 to 31 July.

“Some of the alertness that our guests have had has already passed. Today they feel quite free and comfortable. They examined the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, the Livadia Palace, talked on the Yalta embankment with ordinary citizens in a fairly friendly atmosphere. They formed their position, “said the head of the German national-cultural autonomy of the peninsula Yuri Gempel.
