Merkel’s immigration policy has splitted German society

 

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s Minister President Erwin Sellering (SPD) blamed the German Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on strengthening of the party “Alternative for Germany” in eastern Germany before the elections to the parliament.

This he told to the Berlin’s edition of “Tagesspiegel”:

 

“Mrs. Merkel has significantly contributed to the fact that the issue of refugees has led to a strong polarization of the population. And the “Alternative for Germany” reaps the benefits”.

 

In the east of the country, the refugee crisis has strengthened the feeling of insecurity and emotionally splitted society, the politician believes.

 

Erwin Sellering also recommended toMerkel and Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble to be cautious on the issue of equalization of pensions in the west and east of the country.

 

“Chancellor, and her finance minister can not be treacherous when equating the pensions”, says the politician.
