According to preliminary data, nobody was injured in the hotel’s shelling, the Al-Masri al-Yum web portal said, adding that only several windows in the hotel lobby were broken and several cars parked outside were damaged.
Earlier in the day, masked individuals riding a motorcycle approached the hotel and opened fire. In response, the hotel’s guards began firing in the direction of suspected criminals, forcing them to flee.
Police officers are currently trying to identify the gunmen.
